Bold, garlicky Lao chili oil that earns a spot on everything.
This is the chili oil our family has made for years, long before it had a label. Our mom perfected it in her Lao kitchen, where a jar always sat within arm's reach of the stove. It started as the finishing touch on a traditional Lao noodle soup, then slowly took over every other dish we cooked. Friends and family kept asking for jars of their own, so we started bottling it. Every batch still follows her recipe.
The flavor: rich, savory, and seriously garlicky, with a building heat that lands around medium-hot. Not a numbing Sichuan burn, and not a one-note hot sauce. It is the umami-forward, spoonable kind of chili oil you keep reaching for.
Put it on almost everything: steamed rice and fried rice, noodles, ramen and pho, a fried egg, dumplings and potstickers, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, pizza, even avocado toast.
Why it is different: most chili oil on the shelf is mass-produced. Ours is small-batch and Lao, made from one family's recipe instead of a factory line. If you have worked through the usual chili crisp and want something with a real story and a bigger garlic punch, this is it.
Ingredients: chili peppers, garlic, corn oil, salt, sugar, monosodium glutamate, natural and artificial flavoring, spices, sesame oil.
A little goes a long way, but most people finish a jar faster than they expect. Subscribe so you never run out.
Frequently Asked Questions
How hot is Tiger Mom Lao chili oil?
It's a bold, garlicky medium-hot — flavor first, then a clean building heat. Think more aromatic and savory than a one-note burn. Easy to dial up or down by how much you spoon on.
What makes Lao chili oil different from chili crisp or Sichuan chili oil?
Sichuan styles lean on mouth-numbing Sichuan peppercorn. Our Lao family recipe is garlic-forward and deeply savory — built for rice, noodles, eggs, and grilled meats, the way it's eaten at a Lao family table.
What do I put it on?
Rice, fried or soft eggs, instant and fresh noodles, dumplings, grilled meats and veggies, pizza, avocado toast, soups, and stir-fries. If you eat it, it's probably better with a spoon of this on top.
What's in it? Any allergens?
A short list of real ingredients — chilis, garlic, oil, and our family seasoning, in small batches. See the full ingredient list on the label. Contact us about specific allergens before ordering if you have a concern.
Do I need to refrigerate it? How long does it last?
Keep it in a cool, dark spot and use a clean dry spoon. Refrigerate after opening to keep it freshest. Best within a few months of opening.
